Dr. Santosh Kumar Vishvakarma was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, on 12th November 1979. He received the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electronics from University of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh India, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electronics from D.A.V.V. Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Microelectronics from Panjab, University Chandigarh, India in 1999, 2001 and 2003 respectively. In July 2003 he joined in College of Engineering Roorkee (COER), India as a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication and taught Solid State Devices and Circuits, VLSI Design and VLSI Technology at under graduate level.

In January 2005 he joined Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IITR), Uttrakhand, India in Ph. D. in Semiconductor Devices and VLSI Technology (SDVT) Group under supervision of Dr. Sudeb Dasgupta and Prof. Ashok Kumar Saxena. During his PhD tenure (Jan 2005-Nov. 2008) he has represented IIT Rookee in various national and international conferences and IEP program organized by Special Manpower Development Program, Phase-II (SMDP-II) in IIT Kharagpur and IISc Bangalore in 2006. His has awarded his PhD in Feb 2010 with the thesis title “Analytical Modeling of Low Leakage MGDG MOSFET and its Application to SRAM”.

After PhD he was with University Graduate Center (UNIK), Kjeller, Norway as Post Doctoral Fellow with Prof. Tor. A. Fjeldly under European Union project "COMON" (Compact Modeling Network) on Compact Modeling development and parameter extraction of Multigate MOSFETs from Jan 2009-July 2010.

At present Dr. Vishvakarma is with Electrical Engineering Discipline, School of Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore, India as an Assistant Professor and he is leading the research group “Nanoscale Devices and VLSI/ULSI Circuit and System Design”. His research interest includes “Multigate and Multifin MOSFET (Square, Circular and Rectangular Gate All Around (GAA) MOSFET, Double Gate (DG) MOSFET, FinFET etc.) and their Circuit Applications in Memories, Ultra Low Power Digital & Analog Circuit Design and their Technology, FPGA based Design”.

At present he is guiding five PhDs in IIT Indore. His research group have Cadence EDA, Silvaco (2D/3D Process and Device Simulator) TCAD, FPGA Kits and Xilinx System Edition, 8-bit Microprocessor/controller kits, high end server and clint machines, MATLAB and MATHEMATICA software as a computational tools. Dr. Vishvakarma has one sponsored project entitled "Unified and Compact Analytical Modeling of Nanoscale Gate-All-Around Multigate MOSFETs", Fast Track, SERC, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, 2011-2014 (Grant No. (01) No. SR/FTP/ETA-97/2010). He has published 30 Journal and conferences papers. He is reviewer of various journals such as IEEE Transaction Electron Devices, Microelectronics Journal, Elsevier, Solid State Electronics, Elsevier, Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience etc.

Apart from his academic activity in IIT Indore he is devoted from administrative responsibilities such as Faculty In-charge, Placement, taking care of Industry-Academic relation, Convener, Center for Continuing Education, Branch Counsellor, IEEE Chapter, IIT Indore, and Convener, SC/ST Cell.
