DROP AND PICK-UP

Creche/day-care
  • It is requested to drop the child latest by 8:45 am. It is desirable that a prior message should be sent to the school supervisor if the drop time is extended.
  • Parent or authorized person is only allowed to drop and pick up the child.
  • The drop and pick of the child will be linked to smart card, so smart card will be mandatory for display during drop and pick-up.
  • The children should be picked up latest by 6:15 pm. Each delay of 30 minutes after this stipulated time shall be levied a charge of Rs 100 (for example: if child is picked up at 6: 20 pm, it will be considered as the first 30 minutes of delay)
  • Nobody other than the competent authority will be allowed to enter beyond the pick and drop zone
Preschool:
  • It is requested to drop the child between 9:15 to 9:30 am and pic between 1.30 -1.45 pm.

LIST OF ITEMS TO BE SENT WITH CHILD

  • Water bottle
  • Tiffin box
  • Napkin
  • Some drink other than water: as per the requirement of the child
  • Please put nametag on water bottle, juice bottle, tiffin box and bag etc.
  • Blanket, pillows etc. (as per your child requirements)
  • Spare dresses to change in rainy season, footwear as per weather etc.
  • Change of clothes; if the child is in diapers, adequate diapers and a towel should also be sent with the child. If the child is not toilet-trained a pack of wet wipes will be required
  • Note: No food or drink will be provided by school.

IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK

Please hold your child back if any of the following symptoms are present:
  • Runny nose
  • Colored discharge from eyes
  • Coughing/sneezing
  • Chest congestion/labored breathing
  • Diarrhea/vomiting within the past 24 hours
  • Fever
  • Excessive crying
  • Contagious disease (i.e. Chicken Pox/Pink Eye)
  • Pre-written information should be provided by parent if child has any know medical allergy.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Volunteering in school activities is also encouraged and recognized by the facility. Few family members may be invited to take their suggestion/support in various activities of school, whenever required. Interested one can write to the convener, school facility.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • No processing (cutting fruits, boiling, mixing etc.) of food will be done in school facility.
  • Children should come in clothes and shoes appropriate for running and playing.
  • No food will be provided by school facility.
  • In case of any contagious disease medical certificate from the Institute Health Center is required to be produced before sending your child to the school facility.
  • If the child falls sick while at school facility, parents will be informed and will be requested to pick up the child immediately.
  • The school staff will communicate to parent on their given contact number if there is any issue. Parents may call only during lunch time at landline number of school facility if they wish to inquire about their kids (however, it is not encouraged). Please do not use supervisor/teacher’s mobile number as the mode of communication and a written communication will be always preferred.
  • For safety and security, CCTV cameras are installed in school facility premises. CCTV footages are not available to parents/ teachers. It can only be viewed in case of any incidence/ emergency upon prior approval to convener.
  • No parent will be allowed to visit inside the school facility without prior approval from the convener.
  • All the correspondence should be mailed at: theiitkids [at] iiti.ac.in
  • Parents are requested to maintain calm and polite behavior with supervisor/teachers and caretakers. Any objectionable behavior by teachers or caretakers should be reported to Chairman-NSMC via email to chairman-nsmc[at] iiti.ac.in. Parents can also send their suggestions/feedback and complaints to this email id.
  • The Chiarman-NSMC with the permission from the Director/Dean Administration is empowered to take any decision with respect to points not covered above.

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

  • The preschool (nursery school) management committee reserves the right to make changes in the preschool rules, which will be communicated to students and parents and shall be binding to all.
  • All school rules apply to all students from the time they leave home for school until they have returned home at the end of the school day, or while taking part in any activity organized by, or related to the school.
  • Although the school is not responsible for the behaviour of its students outside its premises, due notice will be taken of reports of misbehavior and disciplinary action will be taken against them if the report is substantiated on proper enquiry.
  • Irregular attendance at school, physical violence in school, misbehaviour with fellows’ students, habitual laziness, disobedience, dishonesty or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student. In such cases the decision of the preschool (nursery school) management committee shall be final.
  • The school authorities will not be responsible for the loss, damage or robbery of student's belongings. Pupils should not bring money or valuable articles unnecessarily to school. Students are expected to carry books as per the daily timetable. No books (other than text or school library books), newspapers or periodicals may be brought to the school without the class teacher’s permission.
  • No students are exempted from Games and Physical Training without a Medical Certificate. The period of exemption should be specified.
  • The school arranges may conduct extracurricular activities for its children at cost. However, the school shall be in no way responsible for the dealing between the coaches / instructors / trainers and shall not guarantee any kind of refund of fees, results etc as may be highlighted by the course conductors.
  • No Parent shall be allowed to enter the school premises when the course / classes are on. Parents will not be allowed to sit and wait for the students in the school premises.
  • No transport facility shall be provided by the school for any extracurricular activity facilitated by the school.
  • One-month advanced notice is to be given before the withdrawal of a student. However, the fees once paid, including the admission fees will not be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.

OTHER GENERAL ISSUES

  • Kindly ensure that the child's name is written (with a marker) on all the items used by the child (Bag, Cap, Shoes, Tiffin Box etc) in school.
  • Please laminate the parent I-card or use plastic pouches provided by the school.
  • The School Dress has been designed keeping in view the taste of children. Ensure that it is clean and hygienic.
  • Kindly have the photo of the person who will pick up your child pasted on the parent I-card. In case of another person coming to pick up the child, the substitute is expected to have both the I - Card and a letter of authority
  • No child will be handed over to a person not known to the teacher/ security.
  • You are requested to come on time to pick up your child.
  • Please do not talk to the class teacher regarding your child's progress while picking up or dropping your child.
