About GARUDA

The Generic AI-based GMRT-tuned radio Data Analysis pipeline (GARUDA) is an AI-driven, versatile tool designed to streamline the analysis of radio interferometric data for GMRT. Optimized for GMRT bands 3, 4, and 5, it automates critical processes such as RFI flagging, calibration, and imaging for continuum and spectral line data. GARUDA provides consistent, high-quality, flagged, and calibrated visibilities for interferometric observations. Not only that, but it also has extension modules that can perform automated continuum and spectral-line imaging. GARUDA is highly efficient and optimized for GPU-based hardware, making it very fast. GARUDA takes about 20 minutes to analyze a typical 3-hour GWB data of size ~ 20 GB in a server-class machine with a GPU. It takes about 3 Hrs to analyze ~ 400 GB GWB data in the same server-class machine.
