Bio: Dr. Saurabh Das received his Ph.D in Radiophysics and Electronics, University of Calcutta and M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Roorkee. Currently he is an Associate Professor at Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering, IIT Indore. During his early career, he served as a faculty at University of Calcutta and Center for Soft Computing Research, Indian Statistical Institute. He was recipients of a number of Young Scientist awards and fellowships from different organizations like URSI, SERB, DST etc. Till date, he authored more than 50 peer reviewed papers in reputed international journals. He has also served as PI of several externally funded projects from ISRO, DST, and SERB. His current research interests include GNSS remote sensing, wave propagation through atmosphere and ionsophere, radar meteorology, and machine learning applications in atmospheric science problems.
Key Research Areas: Radiowave propagation and satellite communication; Microwave remote sensing; Radar meteorology; Satellite based navigation; Space weather and ionosphere; Climate change and tropical rain; Machine learning and data science in atmospheric and space science problems.
