  • Fundamental contribution in the field of Physics:

    1. Contribution to understand the basic mechanism of superconductivity by studying the isotope effect, where the superconducting transition temperature scales with isotopic mass due to electron-phonon interaction

    2. Invented the first 'inverse isotope effect' in history of high-Tc superconductivity, where with increase in the isotopic mass (decreasing phonon frequency) of the iron in (Ba,K)Fe2As2 , Tc increases [ Phys. Rev. Lett. 103(2009)257003].

    3. Invented the absence of an Iron Isotope effect in an optimally doped SmFeAsO1-y superconductor [ Phys. Rev. Lett. 105(2010)037004]
