Funded Positions

Currently our groups has one Research Associate (RA) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions available.

• Research Associate: A highly motivated candiates with PhD degree to join our group in a ANRF-funded project to develop high-performance sodium-ion batteries. Ideal candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and possess proven expertise in cathode materials, layered oxide synthesis, and pouch-type full cell assembly.

• Junior Research Fellow: Our lab has a vacancy for a JRF on A Ministry of Education-funded project focused on positive electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries. The experimental work in this project involves synthesizing sodium layered oxides (via sol-gel or solid-state reaction methods) and characterizing the prepared materials for structural and electrochemical properties.

PhD Students

Solid State Ionics lab typically has 1 to 2 vacancies each year to accommodate highly motivated PhD students. You will join a collaborative environment working on electrochemical energy storage devices (e.g., Na-ion batteries, all-solid-state batteries, composite electrolytes, interface engineering).

• Ideal Background: Academic background or research experience in Condensed Matter Physics, Materials Chemistry, Materials Science, or Nanotechnology.
• Funding: You could be offered a Teaching Assistant position provided you have qualified GATE or UGC-NET. Students with external funding (INSPIRE Fellows, UGC/CSIR-JRF, etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral Fellows

We welcome researchers with a PhD degree and demonstrated experimental expertise in Li/Na-ion battery materials to join our group.

• Expertise Needed: Experimental work on positive electrodes, negative electrodes, or solid electrolytes for post-Li batteries.
• Funding Requirement: There is a Candidates may secure their own independent funding via schemes like the National Post Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF).
